Adidas Baseball Cleats
Is there something wrong with wearing Adidas baseball cleats out on the town if you're comfortable in them? I think they look fine with most any outfit I have on. I think they're great whether I'm playing baseball or not. A friend of mine disagrees with that completely. He says it's like wearing ballet slippers to the movies. I asked him what was wrong with that. He gave me a funny look at that point and stopped talking to me for a while. I like being an individual. And I like to do things my own way. I don’t know why there are people who will look at you negatively for that. It's a great quality, if you ask me.

My friend told me we were going out to a bar one night. I don't really like bars. They're too crowded and loud. But I met him there anyway. I was wearing a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt, some jeans, and my Adidas baseball cleats. I can't even describe the look that he gave me for that.
He said that we were there to meet some girls. I thought I had gone there just to have a beer with him. I don't know why. We could have done that at my house. But I did think that meeting girls was an okay idea, even though I had no hope of finding the right one in a bar. But I was wearing my lucky Adidas baseball cleats.
My friend asked my why they were lucky. That's when I looked at him strangely. What else makes Adidas baseball cleats lucky than winning games in them? I thought everyone knew that. And once you have something that brings you good fortune in one area, it just stands to reason that it will bring you the same benefits in everything that you might do. Some people have a rabbit's foot, I have Adidas baseball cleats.
So, we had a few beers, and we had some nice conversation too. He kept leaving to chase every woman he saw though. I stayed there at the bar the whole time. Chasing random women just isn't my scene. However, while he was off talking to someone, a charming young woman sitting next to me did start talking to me. She said that she loved baseball too. She followed the Detroit Tigers because she grew up in Michigan. She's just moved here for college and didn't really know anyone yet. So, I told her what a great toen this is, and how much there is to see here. I also told her that I'd be happy to show her around some time. And, well, being myself got me a phone number and a date for later on this week.
I'm proud to be me, my strange ideas and all. I don't know if it will work out with this girl or not, but at least I've proven to my friend that it is possible to get a date and not change yourself to do it. It's just a matter of meeting the right person. As for his result for that night - While chasing all those women around, I guess he managed to tick some of them off. Because someone eventually slapped him hard. Heh. My Adidas baseball cleats turned out to be lucky after all. He got smacked and I got a date.
